Petals for Armor

If I am a flower,
I have Petals for Armor.
If a tree I be,
Bark protects my core.

You brought fire into this forest:
Your weapons incendiary.
Nothing in my armory
Could defend against your flames set free.

I, the flower, was but kindling,
My petals fuel to your fire.
I, the flower, fell and perished
A fleeting, flaming floral choir.

I, the three, stood engulfed -
My brothers and sisters: your inferno.
The fire you brought spread from tree to tree.
We fed your pyromancy, let it grow.

Now I, the forest, collective flora,
Simmer, a ground dead.
My land is black with ash
Smeared with darkness spread.

But with time, I, the seed beneath the soil,
Will sprout and let my petals uncoil.
